Hi, Dames! The first Monday in May every year is also known as the Met Gala. It is the opening night of the Metropolitan Museum’s Fashion Institute yearly exhibit where art and fashion meet and have a blown out party hosted by the fashion queen herself, Anna Wintour. This year’s theme was Rei Kawakubo x Comme des Garcons. Everyone looked pretty amazing, but our favorite showstopper was Kate Hudson. She always has a way of being chic and so cool, yet stunningly gorgeous.
The cool thing is you can do this hairstyle too! Her hair is not actually dyed white, it’s white color spray! To get the look:
1. Bring all your hair up to the top of your head and tie a rubber band making a ponytail, but on the last tie leave a loop instead of pulling it all the way through.
2. Take the hair that is left out and tie it around the loop and pin it into place.
3. Grab a can of Bewild White Spray and spray it all over your hair. Be careful around your hairline, you can use a towel to cover your face.
If you have short hair, you can use the same product to achieve Cara Delevingne’s jaw dropping look as well. She’s our second fav look of the night. You can use Body Bauble to add the body jewels. She killed it.
There’s also a styling pomade that makes your hair silver! I first saw it in Japan when I went to Tokyo and then found it online. It’s fun and you can do yourself!
Let me know what you think, Dames!

Spotlight on colorful hair! This year almost no flower crowns (finally!) except for a couple of super cool ones… and gotta love Kylie and her wigs! My best hair picks:
Coachella this year is all about the color – perfect compliment to Spring. I have to say, I love it!

Hi, Dames! Wowza on the Red Carpet at the iHeart Radio Awards. The Dames went out with major changes! I was so obsessed and pleasantly surprised. Katy Perry took a page from Miley’s book and took a buzzer to the side of her head. Not mad at it. Bebe Rexha went full platinum
(to wig or not to wig) and Demi Lovato went from glam lengths to chic straight natural lengths.
I think if they are telling us anything its how versatility and constant change is on the horizon. I have 2 words for you- WIGS and extensions. I recently started working with LUXHAIR and i’m seriously obsessed with these wigs. They are inexpensive and the hair, even though synthetic, is not shiny and “wiggy” looking. You can even use irons on the hair. I’ve been talking about Secret Extensions for a minute now. They are so easy to put on like a headband. So, if you want to be like Katie, (we know she won’t be in the short crop for long), Demi and Bebe, start your wig and hair extension collection. Make sure to get a HairClutch to manage and store all your hair piece accessories. Until then, we can all swoon over these gorgeous Dames changing hair!
I want to see you in different hair extensions and wigs. Make sure to tag me on IG. I will repost you!

The Oscars were pretty hilarious last night complete with that snafu ending. However, the red carpet looks were anything but wrong! I was so impressed with how gorgeous and beautiful everyone looked. The hair was out of this world.
Pssst… I have a serious new obsession with wigs. Why? because you can literally achieve so many looks so easily and so quickly. Kris Jenner stated last night on E! that wigs are all the new rage and everyone is wearing them. Even Khloé is using wigs in her makeovers on Revenge Body! This isn’t like the old days when wigs were heavy and plastic looking. Old (to me) meaning when I used to go to raves in the 90’s. I use to also find some really horrible wigs in my grandma’s closet. Well, not anymore!
So many women were wearing wigs last night (we won’t tell who) and some definitely should’ve been (I won’t mention those names either). However, I will mention some of my absolute fav looks and show you where you can get the wig that matches the cut. You can style it or accessorize it to look as glamorous, hippie, chic, retro, or as classic as you wish! Lux Wigs has all the styles you can replicate. The name of the wig style is below the image. You can click on the image to get them. Happy wig-wearing for everyone!
Hi, Dames! Is everyone watching the Superbowl? Or just chiming in for the half time show like me? I mean, who doesn’t love themselves a little Gaga? She is a Dame that represents being who you are no matter what anyone thinks. Regardless of whether you love her music or not, as a strong woman, we gotta love that! On to the most important: Gaga’s hair! Besides all the wigs, sculptures and the amazing colors she loves to wear, I realized she really loves bows! Bows on top of her head, bows on the side of her head, bows made out of hair positioned anywhere on her head seem to make her pretty happy. I’m not one for crazy hair.. but I do get inspired by it. I decided to create a couple of looks with bows that you can replicate. Any Dame can do this – from young girls to middle-aged moms for a fun day or night out. Below are the images and I will follow with the steps. Try it and let me know how it worked for you!
Note: You can do this with your hair half up or all up in a pony on top of your head – it’s up to you. I put in my extensions and created this look with my hair half up.
Step 1: Use a bristle brush to pull all the hair up smooth to the top of your head. The bow might end up a little frizzy or messy or textured, so I always recommend a juxtaposition for a finished look. If the hair pulled up is smooth and tight, the bun can be messy. If updo is polished, the other hair can be a little messy.
Step 2: Wrap a rubber band around the hair as tight as possible and leave a little loop. This loop is going to be the two sides of the bow. The size of the loop should be the size you want the bow to be.
Step 3: Notice the hair left out – we are going to use that in a second. Take the loop and separate it in the middle. Now, take the loose hair left out and pull it through the middle of the loop and pin it in the base of the pony. If you have long hair and there’s still a lot hanging, you can wrap it around the base of the bow. Pin it into place.
You can follow these same steps to create different bows. This bow I had extensions in and pulled it into a side pony. Then creating a loop, and pulling the ends through the middle. This would be an elegant updo that would could be done in a few min’s once you got the hang of those steps.
It’s OK if you’re not the Dame that will wear a gigantic platinum wig with a huge hair bow on top, or a mini bow on top of your head. Try the side bow that looks like a cool updo. This works for all of us!
Make sure to tag us on IG @thehairdame with your bows!!

Hey, Dames! Did everyone watch the SAG awards this past weekend? The part I made sure to catch was the red carpet pre-show. I had to see the best looks everyone was rocking. What were your thoughts? I thought everyone looked super vampy and edgy and I loved it! Kate Hudson looked beyond, Chrissy Teigen never disappoints, and Ariel Winter – I don’t know who she is, but her hair was amaze. I loved Taraji P.’s haircut and I’m not sure what I thought about Janelle Monaé’s buns -kind of reminded me of Mickey Mouse ears-, cute for a day at Disney but not sure about an award show. Nonetheless, everyone looked beautiful.
What hairstyles would you like to replicate? Let me know in comment sections and I’ll create a video dedicated to you.
Hi, Dames! Did everyone enjoy the Golden Globes last night? The stars were studded from head to toe. We loved the metallic and white seen all over the red carpet. You can tell that those two are about to take over the fashion scene – goodbye cutouts! However, the most important question, what did everyone think of the hair? I particularly thought everyone looked vey glamorous, very polished, and quite beautiful. Collectively, over here we all had some favs…

2016 was a hard year for a lot of us. I mean, aren’t we all growing our bobs and bangs from the year before? Ugh… thank God for hair extensions (Secret Extensions by the Hair Dame, right?) Well, we’ve been scouting through all the celebs we love for some outstanding hair looks and we wanted to share with you our favorite Dame of 2016: Rihanna! All of her hair looks were different, refreshing versatile, provocative and proving that she can rock anything!
Here’s some snapshots of as many looks as we could find. While
they are of wide variety, she definitely had a theme going this year: vampy, very vampy Rhi Rhi. But what can we say? We love it.
Rita Ora is the new host of America’s Next Top Model and is definitely one of the most versatile hairstylistas. Her hairstylist Chris Appleton is so talented and creative, he has literally turned her hair into a magic carpet ride taking us from Marilyn glam to a boxer braids kind of Dame. One thing Rita always does is kill it on the red carpet from hair to toe.
Below are nine of our favorite looks that are perfect for any holiday party or even for New Year’s Eve!
These look are all achievable. Make sure to check out our holiday gift guide for our favorite tools that you can use to achieve all these looks. You can also check out the most affordable and best hair extensions for all these looks at Secret Extensions by The Hair Dame.
